In June, 2005, my husband Max and I flew to Alaska to visit with daughter, Sharilynn, her husband Jerod, and our grand daughters, Miriam, Jade, and Bailey; they live in Ealge River outside of Ancorage. It was a life changing experience being in Alaska, unlike any place I have ever been. Our first trip was to Seward, but on the way, we stopped at Portage Glacier, shown here in the photo. It has melted so much, the tip is no longer visible from the road.
